The Millennial Misconception

As most know, millennials don't have the best reputation. I know you're probably thinking "Oh another one of these blogs telling me why millennials really aren't that bat"... bear with me.
We are stereotyped as:
1. Lethargic
2. Entitled
3. Uneducated
This list could probably be as long as your CVS receipt once all the coupons are printed, but I won't take you there.
Common fact: Millennials are misunderstood.
Have you ever had someone misinterpret an entire conversation you had with them, and spin it in a way you never intended? You probably felt misunderstood.
Though we may have been raised a little different, some of us didn't obtain a 4 year degree, and some still live on mom and dads couch... we are passionate about the impact we have on the world around us.
As a "20 something" in the corporate world.. I find myself looked down upon because I'm "so young still". Let me tell you, there is nothing more frustrating than being stereotyped as the 3 bullets above when I'm quite the opposite. Some millennials are 110% all 3 of those things and the entire CVS receipt, but there are a lot of us who aren't and are stuck having to find a way to prove it.
Challenge: Next time you meet someone who you know fits into the millennial generation... keep an open mind and try to learn something from them. We really do have some stellar ideas.
